Aw, thanks! I made raisin pie, not pumpkin, and it turned out pretty good. So did the turkey, even though I put the meat thermometer in the wrong spot at first.
Didn’t get together with my mom because we all figured the Covid risk was too high— she just got her bivalent booster a few days ago, and my husband is hoping to get his in a couple weeks. There are good reasons, too, to worry about a post-Thanksgiving spike in infections really hitting the health care system hard.
But for my mom, Thanksgiving isn’t a huge deal. It’s nice to get together, but it’s not nearly the same as Christmas. I don’t know if other Canadians feel the same way.
