Another MIL story

I’ve submitted this on the main site but I wanted to share it here too:

I’ve submitted stories about my mil in the past. But this is an occasion that really stands out and I’ll never forget it.

This happened probably close to 10 years or even more ago. My husband’s grandmother was still alive and she’d made us a nice meal for Sunday dinner. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, etc. the whole works. We even had dinner rolls. That’s where the problem comes in.

We (my husband, me, mil and Nana) were digging in after saying grace when this happens.

Mil: These rolls are cold.
Someone (I think it was me): You could heat it up in the microwave.

At that she throws the roll across the table, picks up her plate and stalks back to her room. Nana started crying. I felt so bad for her. She made this nice meal and my mil does that.

I’m sure there were other incidences with her and Nana but that’s the one that really stands out.
